Hotel Guest Reviews of the Mondrian, A Morgans Hotel

The bed & linens were great along with the location. If you can get an inexpensive rate on the room it would be perfect for the location, but the rooms definitely need maintenance. Carpet was badly stained, privacy bolt broken, bedside lamp broken off & missing on one side of the bed, noisy room from both the street & conversations in the hall, stale smell in room with wall unit heating & cooling unit, exterior hallways & stairs filthy with gum, dirt & spilled drinks. ...read more

Hotel decor is the main attraction. Very interesting but not very practical. Uncomfortable chairs but fashionable.

The Mondrian did not meet expectations of a 4-star hotel. The room was fairly cramped and it seemed as though they just tried to paint over a decaying structure - the finishings in the room were quite cheap and the facilities felt rundown. Certainly not worthy of a 4-star rating. Positives included a nice bar area off the lobby and the gym was quite good. ...read more

I called housekeeping due to poor service in room cleaning. Trash was left behind, wash clothes, bath gels, shampoo were not replenished. Bed sheets felt like plastic. $10.00 per day for parking!

The hotel did not meet my expectations. I thought it would be a modern hotel that would be clean and sleek. Instead, it felt like a cheap motel that had been painted. The valet & hotel desk clerks acted as though they were too good for the guests. I booked it for three nights but only stayed for two nights. The rooms had an odd smell. The in-room safe did not work. Everything had a price tag on it. The carpet was dirty & dingy. The first night I was there, the guests staying next to me were extremely loud and obnoxious. I could hear everything and feared that I would have to duck for cover if shots were fired. When I complained about it to the desk staff the next day, they said that I should have called them when it occurred. There was no sound proofing and everything echoed. They did not offer to move me immediately but stated that I could move if it occurred again. On the second night, the fire alarm was pulled and it took quite a while for it to be shut down. Though I booked it for three nights, I decided to leave early and find another hotel for the third night of my business trip. I would never stay there again. ...read more

Shower drain did not function. Patio door did not lock. AC unit literally sounded like a jet engine when it ran. Outside noise was excessive in the room due to poor sound insulation. Priceline advertised 4 star hotels in Phoenix like Hilton and Sheraton. The Mondrian was in no way a 4 star hotel. This was a typical bait-and-switch by Priceline. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this mode of operation in court with Priceline. ...read more

The Mondrian would be an OK choice if it was listed as a 2 or 2.5 star hotel. The building is tired, the room had broken tiles, holes in curtains, the heater and AC unit sounds like a train is going through the room. ...read more

Great location, great entrance, was given the simplest room - which I expected and got a great deal - I expected more from the room or the bathroom. Bath was too shallow to even think about taking a bath and super tiny. Have been in greater 3-star places. The bar areas at night are gorgeous though. If that is what you are going for, who cares about the room. ...read more
